Invites you to join the Book Study of The Injustice of Place and Panel Discussion with Pastor Abraham Funchess, Director of Waterloo Human Rights Commission, on Tuesday nights: April 2-30 from 6pm to 7:30pm (CT) via Zoom.

April is Fair Housing Month.

The Iowa Conference United Women in Faith invites you to join us for a program entitled “Come Learn with Us” that will be held on consecutive Tuesday nights via Zoom beginning April 2-30, from 6 to 7:30 pm (CT). During this time, we will join a book study and panel discussion by the Waterloo Human Rights Commission. It will be led by Pastor Abraham Funchess on the book, “The Injustice of Place.” Pastor Funchess is the Director of the Waterloo Human Rights Commission. This eye-opening book, set in Appalachia and South Texas, compels us to look at poverty in a new way.

See the attached flyer for more information.

Following the April study, the Charter for Racial Justice Committee of the Iowa United Women in Faith will be sponsoring a time of discourse focusing on the information gleaned from the book and the panel discussions. This Zoom meeting will be held on Saturday, May 4, 9:00-11:00 am. You do not need to attend the April program in order to participate in this workshop. I would encourage you to order the book or borrow one from your local library to gain an understanding of poverty in rural America. Both programs are open to all individuals in the Iowa Conference. The attached flyer will give you the Zoom link to the Tuesday night book study and panel discussion, as well as the registration link for the May 4th event.
